Fergie's Sweet on Candie's
Singer Signs On for Fall '07 Ad Campaign

NEW YORK (June 21, 2007)—Multi-platinum recording artist Fergie is sweet on Candie's. The Grammy Award winner inked an exclusive deal with Iconix Brand Group, Inc. to appear in the company’s new fall '07 television, print and online advertising campaign. To top it off, the singer's newest music video for the hit single "Big Girls Don't Cry" features Candie's brand apparel, footwear (produced by Steve Madden Ltd.), jewelry, sleepwear, hats and bedding.

"Candie's is giving me creative input and they are allowing me to bring my touch to the campaign, and I love that," said Fergie. "The clothes are so wonderful and we are tying it all together -- the commercial, the print ads and my video -- and I am really excited about it."

This isn't the first time Fergie has used Candie's in her music videos. The new spokeswoman, who signed on in February, features the junior brand in her music video for "Glamorous" and appears in the spring '07 ad campaign. She joins a long list of celebrities who have promoted the brand including Hilary Duff and Kelly Clarkson.

Iconix chief marketing officer Dari Marder said, "This is a wonderful opportunity for Candie's to be able to lift our brand creative straight out of Fergie's hit video, "Big Girls Don't Cry." It further validates the Candie's brand as part of pop culture."

"The new Candie's advertising campaign marks a first for a junior fashion brand," Kohl's executive vice president and chief marketing officer Julie Gardner said. "The campaign is innovative and authentic and leverages the music video, which makes the brand more relevant to our junior shoppers."

The new partnership also extends into Fergie's first-ever solo tour. Candie's is an exclusive fashion sponsor of the tour and each performance features a live Candie's fashion show. The brand is available exclusively at Kohl's department stores.
