Asics To Buy Haglofs Purchase Reflects Shoe Brand's Focus on Growth KOBE, Japan -- Asics has agreed to purchase the Swedish company Haglöfs for $133.42 million. The purchased company sells such outdoor products as apparel, backpacks, footwear and accessories. "We are currently focused on further growth and expansion of our business on a global basis," Asics said in a statement. "Moreover, we are aggressively exploiting opportunities of M&A including the alliance with other companies to boost or supplement the existing businesses within our group." The deal is expected to be finalized in the third quarter of 2010. The transaction is subject to clearance from the relevant competition authorities and is expected to be finalized during the third quarter of 2010. | |
