D. Myers Has Bonafide Style Company Launches New Line at The WSA Show Melissa Bona is more than a shoe designer; she’s also her own customer. So when D. Myers decided to reach out to the contemporary consumer with a new collection, Bona knew exactly what the target audience wanted. “I know how particular this customer is, because I consider myself a part of that consumer group,” Bona says. “I wanted to show something special and unique.” New for spring ’09, James & Bona will make its debut at The WSA Show this week. Named after Bona and D. Myers president Jim Ries, the collection was designed for the 25- to 45-year-old woman who wants to stand out in a crowd. Bona drew inspiration from a variety of sources, including the laid-back, yet edgy, attitude of Los Angeles; the cobalt blues and whites of Santorini, Greece and the vibrant hues of Pop Art. “I used a lot of distressed leathers, patent leathers, printed fabrics and snakes,” she says. The silhouettes will consist of ballet flats, architectural heels and wedges with vintage influences. “I really wanted to offer amazing styles, but still be at a price point that the everyday customer can afford, and keep the great quality,” Retail range is $69.95 to $99.95. | |
