New Balance Brings Back Vintage Styles
410 and 420 Will Return to U.S. This Fall

BOSTON (May 22, 2008)—New Balance is looking to the past for its latest fall collection for men and women. Based on the brand’s authentic 1970s running sneakers, the Vintage Running line is being reintroduced in the United States.

In 1982, the 420 was rated the No. 1 running shoe by Runners World due to its overall performance, fit and comfort. The sneaker was constructed from premium materials and boasted color pops and tonal colorways. This time around, customers will be able to purchase the 420 in its original shade of blue, as well as three additional color combinations created by design consulting firm DDC USA, beginning in August for $80 to $95. Additional shades including maroon, blue, bone, navy, black and brown will hit stores on July 1 and retail for $60.

The 410 is a modern interpretation of its 1970s counterpart. This style is available in suede/mesh in off-white/red, black/yellow and blue/yellow for men and a suede canvas combination in olive/off-white or beige/white for women. The collection will reach stores in July and will retail for $50.
