Sebago Names New VP
Malamet to Lead Global Growth Initiatives

ROCKFORD, Mich.— Sebago has named Gary Malamet as vice president and general manager, effective immediately. Malamet has a considerable background in the footwear industry. “We welcome Gary to the Sebago team and to Wolverine World Wide,” said Heritage Brands Group president Bill Brown, which oversees Sebago. "Gary brings extensive experience from both the wholesale and retail sides of the business. The Sebago brand is currently distributed in nearly 110 countries, including our own subsidiaries in the USA, Canada, and Europe. The breadth of our distribution, combined with our focus on retail, which includes 42 Sebago concept stores worldwide, makes Gary a great fit to lead the global growth initiatives for the Sebago brand.”

Malamet has served in various positions with Lacoste Footwear, where he was most recently president, USA and Canada and was responsible for leading the growth strategy for the brand in those markets. Prior to his tenure at Lacoste, Malamet worked with the Weyco Group as president of the Stacy Adams brand. He has previously been part of the leadership teams at Kenneth Cole footwear, Bally, Bonwit Teller, and Lord and Taylor.

The hiring of Gary Malamet comes on the heels of Sebago’s recent addition of Chris Heffernan in the newly created position of vice president, Product and Marketing. “We are strengthening the Sebago team and reshaping our structure to drive brand excitement and product innovation, which are the foundation of our growth plan,” Brown adds.
