Outdoor Company Holds onto Exclusive Footwear Rights

FORT WORTH, Texas (Apr. 14, 2008)—Rocky Brands (NASDAQ: RCKY) will remain the exclusive manufacturer and marketer of Dickies footwear in the United States, at least until 2010. Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co. extended its current licensing agreement with the outdoor company and has the option to further extend the deal for three more years. This contract supports Dickies' plan to become a brand leader in work-related product categories with one of the country's strongest footwear brands.

“Dickies is an iconic brand with an incredibly robust heritage for quality and durability," Rocky Brands chairman Mike Brooks says in a release. "Over the past several years, Rocky has grown a very successful business in Dickies footwear. A rugged footwear collection with unfailing delivery on that brand promise has proven to be a compelling choice for the demanding footwear consumer. We look forward to continuing this for years to come.”

Under this arrangement, Rocky Brands holds the exclusive rights to produce Dickies footwear in the U.S., including industrial work and slip-resistant footwear for men and women.

“We have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship since 2000,” says Philip Williamson, CEO of Dickies. “Rocky has recognized the uncompromising performance expectations of the Dickies consumer and has applied world class design and production competencies to build a Dickies footwear line that will not disappoint.”
