Brights And Heels Appealing In Baltimore Boutique Customers Crave Missoni, Tibi The ladies of Baltimore are making their mark on the city by strutting down the streets in eye catching footwear. Although trends run the gamut from fabulous flats to stunning stilettos, The Little Shoebox offers footwear from 25 luxury brands so customers are sure to find a pair that will fit their fancy. “Almost all of our designers are really unique,” Janie Griffin, who co-owns the store with Emilie Blaze, tells WSAToday.com. “We don’t carry what you’d see in the department stores. If a client’s coming in and they’re going to spend $600 on a shoe, they don’t want to know they’ll see another seven women in the same shoe at the next cocktail party.” According to Griffin, the industry is seeing a push for the higher heel. “We’re seeing it across the board,” Griffin says. “We’re seeing ladies loving the cone heel because of its comfort and the hidden platform.” Sultry shades are also taking a stand at the boutique. “We tend to infuse a lot of color in our collections, and that’s something that we’re getting a reputation for,” Griffin says. “People love that we take that risk and bring in a lot of color instead of only bringing in black and neutral tones. Designers are encouraging women to punch out basic black pants with color and make shoes the accessory.” Oranges, pinks, reds and metallics are doing especially well this season. Here are a few styles leaving their footprints on the Town of the Big House.
