“This spring has been late coming,” says Robin Brooks, owner of the 6-month-old Clayton, Mo., boutique just outside of St. Louis. “My customers have been going toward cork, natural calf leather, wedges and snake skin. They want really different and unique shoes that you don’t see everywhere, and some are still looking for special occasion shoes with some brightness and versatility.” Black and metallic shades of bronze gold remain popular, along with hues of pink and lilac, as well as ribbon. Here are a few of the styles making a fortune at the high-end store.

Retails for $375
Why It’s A Top Seller:

“It’s so sexy on. The natural calf leather makes it versatile to wear with jeans or nice skirts and dresses. The designer puts a little padding on the ball of the foot, and the shoe elongates the legs.”

Retails for $395
Why It’s A Top Seller:

“It’s been really popular because of the comfort of the heel. It’s thick and about 3 inches high. The shoe has nice artisan design, and it’s more of a comfortable fashionable shoe with straps.”

Price:
Retails for $370
Why It’s A Top Seller:

“It’s a cork wedge with a gold and brown leather braided upper. It doesn’t have a thong between the toe; it has a slingback strap. It’s popular because cork is very light. The shoe looks high, but it’s comfortable and the strap will keep your foot in.”

Price:
Retails for $298
Why It’s A Top Seller:

“It’s a cork slide that has the standard brown patent that looks like tortoise shell pattern on the upper strap. Cork is so big this year. When you look at that tortoise shell pattern you know it’s one of his shoes.”

Price:
Retails for $285; $215
Why It’s A Top Seller:

Image“This is a new vendor for me. Both shoes have a braided, twisted black design. One is a flat, and the other is a heel. It’s a nice price point. It’s coiled black and silver with a disc pattern on the upper with an ankle strap and a thick 4-inch black heel.”
